Fellowship

In 2017, we are launching the first non-governmental policy fellowship for physicians.  The Living Closer Foundation Fellowship in Climate & Health Science Policy is a 12-month immersive graduate medical education training program for doctors.  Our goal is to train clinicians to proficiency in climate change communication, knowledge of climate and health linkages, and facility with the machinations of local, federal, and international climate and health policy.

We are pleased to offer our Fellowship in conjunction with the NIEHS and the CDC, and our Fellows will be expected to spend up to six months in both Washington DC and Atlanta with climate policy leaders.

Our core competencies include knowledge in and proficiency of:

  1.  Climate science foundations
  2. US government and relevant state policies and institutions
  3. International institutions relevant to climate change and health
  4. Health implications of climate change
  5. Climate change and health impact and vulnerability assessment skills
  6. Public/Stakeholder engagement and communication Skills

Interested clinicians should send a letter of interest and CV to the fellowship director, Jay Lemery MD (John.Lemery@ucdenver.edu) by September 30th for consideration for Fellowship starting the following summer.
